Welcome to About Kathleen, a new website dedicated to the breathtaking and multifaceted actress Kathleen Robertson. You may recognize Kathleen from such television roles as Clare Arnold in the 90's hit show "Beverly Hills, 90210", Azkadellia in the SciFi mini-series "Tin Man" and most recently as Kitty O'Neill in the new Starz series "Boss", as well as such film roles as Veronica in Gregg Araki's candy-colored "Splendor", Thea in "XX/XY", which is one of my all time favorite performances of hers, and most recently as Jules in the Indie drama "A Night for Dying Tigers".

I hope you will enjoy the site and all it will have to offer in the future. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have or if you would like to contribute news, photos, fan art, etc. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated.

Splendor screencaps

The gallery has been updated with DVD screencaps of Kathleen as Veronica in Splendor, another one of my favorite films directed by one of my favorite directors Gregg Araki. I’m assuming most of you have seen this one but if for some reason you haven’t, do yourself a favor and get it soon. It’s cute, sweet, quirky, heartfelt and has a really fantastic cast. Now if Kathleen and Gregg could just work on another project together in the not so distant future and throw a little Jimmy Duval into the mix, I’d be a very happy lady. Just saying. ;)

Boss 1.07 & 1.08 screencaps

Posted on April 21, 2012 by Stef • Filed under Boss, Gallery Updates0 Comments

The gallery has been updated with HD screencaps of Kathleen in episodes 7 & 8 of Boss. Such heartbreaking times for poor Kitty. I hope next season will work out a little better for her. Regardless of whether good or bad times lay ahead for Kitty in Season 2 though, one thing is for certain and that is Kathleen will knock it out of the park yet again. Perhaps she’ll even get some award nominations (and hopefully wins) this next go round.

Love: the scientific experiment

Posted on April 18, 2012 by Stef • Filed under Film Projects, Losing Control0 Comments

A young scientist’s experiments are failing. She can’t decide whether to marry her boyfriend. She’s stuck. That is the premise of the wacky new comedy Losing Control, written and directed by Valerie Weiss who earned a PhD in X-ray crystallography from Harvard Medical School before becoming a film-maker.

“You say we’re perfect for each other. What do we compare it to? I need proof,” says Sam, the militantly rational researcher and main character. Losing Control is like a mix between The Office and the 2009 romantic comedy He’s Just Not That Into You, only set in a science lab. The writing is witty. The characters are just awkward enough to be lovable. The protagonist keeps doing the exact wrong things to try to set everything right in her love life and at work.

A lifelong rationalist, Sam (Miranda Kent) makes a crucial error in judgement: she decides to use the scientific method decide whether she loves her boyfriend enough to marry him. To do so, she breaks up with him and dates a handful of other guys, testing them in categories like “willingness to share”, “chivalry”, and, of course, “sex”. She keeps a chart in her purse. The story plunges into absurdity as Sam courts a tantric sex god, an eccentric performance artist, and a guy whose business card reads “likes pesto and down comforters.”

“Boss” Season 2 to premiere in August

Posted on April 18, 2012 by Stef • Filed under Boss, TV Projects0 Comments

The Starz original series “Boss” is scheduled to begin its second season at 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 17, according to a news release.

Kelsey Grammer stars in his Golden Globe-winning role as fictional Chicago Mayor Tom Kane, along with cast members Connie Nielsen, Hannah Ware, Jeff Hephner, Kathleen Robertson, Troy Garity and Rotimi.

Joining as series regulars this season are Jonathan Groff (“Glee”) as Ian Todd, a smart and ambitious young advisor to Kane, and Sanaa Lathan (“Nip/Tuck”) as Alderman Ross’ strong-willed and politically savvy Chief of Staff.

Special guest star Tip Harris, who is known as rapper T.I. (“American Gangster”) will appear as Trey, a former gang member with designs on a career in City Hall.
